Darren & Alison’s: A Union of 2 Generous Hearts

Had the pleasure of being part of D&A’s wedding early November this year! Been a while since I last did weddings and I was just reminded of how much job I find in doing them, having the honor of blessing a couple on one of the biggest events in their lives ๐Ÿ™‚

Both Darren & Alison are one of the most loving couple towards others I know ๐Ÿ™‚ Never afraid to be themselves, having no reserve in loving people; they have such gentle spirits. And by bringing these 2 whole people together, I know that they are going to be such a power couple in blessing the people around them!

Didn’t really get a chance to snap a proper picture with the newly weds ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
Leading up to the wedding, the boyfriend did a pre-wedding video for them as well. A short video for them to share their story and how Jesus really divinely brought them together, leading up to their wedding. I tagged along and took some pictures while they sweat in the sun hee!

Okay back to the decor of the wedding, Alison chose a dusty blue/grey look to adorn the reception area. Went flower- shopping and here’re some of my loots:

Some really beautiful Eucalyptus Nuts. They are just absolutely fascinating to look at! Those little caps are filled with the fluffy blooms! Some of the nuts were almost blooming and they looked like they were bursting out in abundance!

Also bought some soft cream roses and (my favorite of all time) dried lavender.

Washi-taped some paper cups in all sorts of different patterns, and filled them up with popcorn! It was a hit with the kids ๐Ÿ˜‰ Wonderful idea by the bride.

Did up some alphabet- separators for the place cards as well!

And a dreamy photobooth area with helium balloons and fairy lights!!! Throughout the wedding lunch, when I cam out to keep the decor, there were toddlers playing happily with the left over helium balloons! Note to self- balloons are an awesome idea.

Besides the decor, the bride Alison also placed a customized order of handmade boutonniere for the groom and his groomsmen!

Again, made use of mainly blue, peach and an ivory satin for these creations ๐Ÿ˜‰ Made 2 different designs to play things up!

Super happy that I made these babies! All in 1 night! Prior to this project I was just having the longest hiatus in making anything! And I didn’t realize how much I missed making them till that night ๐Ÿ™‚ Really am so thankful for this gift.

What a beautiful thing this union was ๐Ÿ™‚ and how blessed I am to have been a part of it. Bring’em weddings on!!!

I personally use mine for all the above and much more hee hee. They’re just so easy and light to use!

Another project I’ve been on is also this beautiful clutch I am totally in love with right now! It’s the bag I turn to for weekends, going to church or out for meals with friends. And I’ve already started getting orders for these lovely clutches that just matches everything!

Love the size of it as well, this one above can be stuffed with a smaller than A4 hard-back book that’s about 1.5 inches thick!

Wei Liang & Janice: Celebration perfection

I have soooo much for you guys to catch up with! Have been involved with a few more wedding projects, this time doing it for a cousin. Wei Liang (my cousin) and Janice finally put an end to their 10 years-long courtship (GASP!!). Having been together since the end of their polytechnic schools days, they have all along seemed to me like a couple that has been married for a few years already!

While doing my consultation with them, Janice was the one who spoke more, given that my cousin’s more soft-spoken. And as I heard them share with me their wedding plans, I saw a couple who want to please their family and friends. The wedding dinner wasn’t as much about them as it was about their guests. Inviting me to come in and help them on decorating their reception was something that was the “them”- factor.

Obviously the colour theme was blue and yellow. Those colour combinations really reminded me of unexpected playfulness; so that’s the direction I went with the flowerย arrangements!

Some pictures I took with my iPhone!

I actually got so excited for the project that the night before, I couldn’t really sleep. And so I spent my supposedly-sleeping time preparing all the arrangements T.T – from 1am to about 4am!!ย Goodness me. But I was really enjoying every bit of my sleepless hours with those beautifully-adorned flowers.

And here’s proof that I was WIDE-AWAKE during the wedding O.O

My beautiful little sister and I that night, clearly enjoying our food! ;D

Amsie the bride

I approached a friend of mine- Amsie, early last year when I got to know she was getting married and told her that I would love to do something special for her! Amsie managed to find a simple yet elegant- looking gown at a really affordable price for one of many bridal photoshoots. (Amsie’s hubby- Alwin’s a photographer!)

LOVE LOVE LOVE the pictures! Absolutely loving how simple the background is, with the focus on the beautiful bride. The hot pink rosette brooch I made for herย definitely gave the whole picture a pop of colour, really bringing out Amsie’s quirky cute personality ๐Ÿ™‚ย As I blog this now, the beautiful couple has been married for over a month already! Congratulations Amsie & Alwin, and thank you for allowing me to be a tiny tiny part of your wedding.ย โ™ฅ

Upsize to Oriental, please?

Have been getting quite a few customization requests recently for Chinese New Year (YAY! HOLIDAY! FOOD! ANG BAO!) And I’ve been happily receiving them! Just love it that I get to come home from work to make accessories. Such a refuge from everything else during the day. Yes it can be alot of work and patience to make just one piece, but I do love it much.

Anyways with all the blog shops going all floral recently, especially since it’s CNY, I thought it would be fun to add some oriental feel to my necklaces ๐Ÿ™‚

The one on top is actually an adaptation of the ‘Garden Coral’ necklace from my latest collection. Love it when people request for certain colours to match cos it pushes me to explore other colour combinations which (thank God) turns out real pretty most of the time.

Love how delicate and beautiful they all turned out!

Finally sent out all the necklaces yesterday and am hoping against all odds that my customers get them before the weekend!

Sneak Peaks for Christmas Collection!

Hey all! I’m in the midst of preparing for Adorninglory’s upcoming Christmas Collection! :DD

Have already done up some ornament badges and pen toppersย for you guys and am taking orders already! The pen toppers are going at $3 each and they would make the perfect affordable Christmas present for your colleagues and friends.

Also explored some hand-embroidery this time round and am loving the results despite the painfully longer time taken!

Do send your enquiries to adorninglory@gmail.com or just leave a comment and I will get back to you!!

Gerard & Rebecca: Celebrate love

Gerard & Rebecca– the 2nd wedding I helped out at this year! Compared to Isaac & Cheryl’sย wedding, this wedding was less of a grand/ formal presentation but more rustic, a “Pinterest” wedding, as the bride herself called it! Being in Singapore, what couples normally do would be to sign up for bridal packages with a Bridal boutique or the hotel venue that they were gonna have their wedding at. And these packages normally don’t include doing up the reception area much. And so for Gerard & Rebecca, having some extra help to doll up the reception was really something they wanted for their own. Say, a representation of what message they would like to bring across to their guests.

And to this couple, words were a huge part of how they wanted to bring that spirit across. With the help of their good friend (and my now new friend!)- Esther Ann, we joined our forces to make this dream a reality for our precious couple!

The full bridal party!

Apart from the beautiful showcase that Esther Ann and I did, the gorgeous bride requested for me to custom make a necklace just for her! After sharing back and forth some thoughts on the design and the vision I had for it, here’s the end product:

(Photos taken by Stevefoo.com)

Love how this necklace is a little larger than life, yet still elegant with the soft whites in different shades (will blog more about the necklace soon!). Rebecca was so happy with the necklace that I was pleased with my job haha! What made me even more happy was that I had friends who recognized my design as the lovely bride walked down the aisle ๐Ÿ™‚

I was really satisfied at how everything turned out for this wedding :’) God really pulled everything together for good for this beloved couple. Gerard and Rebecca wanted so much to have their wedding exude an air of celebration of God’s love and faithfulness, and it did. It wasn’t really about them and their union in the end, but about how faithful the Lord had been to them in each of their journeys, and then how the Lord made sure that this journey they were taking together in this new season, starts with a love and laughter-filled beginning.

This is why I love weddings.
